Island Root, the popular kava bar, will be making significant expansions in 2024, according to recent real estate intel.

What Now Orlando originally obtained a document that showed the rising chain, co-owned by Tony Childers and John Shealey, had signed a lease at 1024 Highway A1A within Atlantic Plaza in Satellite Beach.

“It was an area that we felt needed a Kava Bar for the community,” Mr. Childers tells What Now Orlando. “We have a lot of customers who live there who commute to our other locations. We’ve been asked for years to build a location there, so we think it’ll be a great opportunity for the community. Hopefully, it’ll be open in July.”

“I’m also building one in Sebastian right now at the train station. That should be ready in 60 days. There will be another opening in Coral Springs in 2 weeks.”

Readers should note that this upcoming Satellite Beach location is actually age-restricted for customers 21 and up, unlike the others. All other key characteristics such as a menu of kava, tea, and lights snacks served in a relaxing beach ambience will remain the same, Mr. Childers assures.
