This was my third time going to Island Root, and it honestly gets better every time. I went on Monday and they had poker, which was absolutely amazing—it added such a fun energy to the already laid-back vibe. The staff are always friendly and make you feel at home, even if you’re new to kava.

Overall this is a great place to hang out and bring friends I do find it a little bit expensive and habit forming so if you're not used to the stuff then don't drink it it costs a lot of money. $50 + a day is wild.

Definitely recommend here at nine very laid-back Will is definitely a great asset to this company amazing personality if you want someone to joke around and someone who’s knowledgeable, I definitely suggest this . I will continue to come to this bar after my late night shift of work

Staff isn’t inviting at all if you are not a regular and is very rude. Staff gave us a hard time about playing pool even when we spent the minimum amount needed. On top of this kava bar was close to empty with the pool table unoccupied. Overall every time we’ve been here we felt very unwelcome.

So i walk into the kava bar that I buy wraps all these dumb rose wraps that are super expensive $2.50 before tax and all those stupid CBD wraps that I bought just because they sold it and I support small businesses. So it's 4:30 am and the bar tenders makes me seem like the scum of the earth and let's me know it's a shell gas station where I can use the bathroom. Dude shouldn't have said anything to me it was so I'm embarrassing in front of people how unprofessional because he knew I was going to use the bathroom he put me on the spot like a little kid grow up. I will never support your business again you guys give customers a hard time about using your bathroom at 4 am you guys are terrible.

Me and myboyfriend Shop here all the time we are the only one that buys their wraps. Wentt in one time to use the bathroom at 4.30am and got the third degree and got kicked out I will never ever support their business again. It's un-American to even stop a person from using the bathroom so I'm good on supporting them they don't care about day to day americans.

Staff member by the name of Naren was a huge jerk. Me and a friend, both of us male college kids, walked in and within two minutes were met with a woman asking to see our IDs as “it’s 10:30 so you need to be 18”.

I gave the woman my ID showing that i’m 19 years old, and within 2 SECONDS, she goes “This is fake.” I said excuse me? The audacity to instantly assume that my ID is fake and that i’m up to no good because i’m a male college student. Why the hell would I have a fake ID that’s under 21? I have tattoos on my arms and leg as well.

It was unwelcoming because of her. We left instantly and were about to give them good business.

My third time coming in the other night and each time I come in it’s never very welcoming the place is super nice but the lady with glasses at the register is always rude in some way when I’m starting to settle in and about to order something to drink or a bite to eat its always like, “you have to order or you cant be here,” and i understand but respect goes along way. Im constantly being told aggressively by her that I'm doing something wrong when in all honesty I’m doing nothing at all and if I am doing something wrong no problem at all, just need to ask me politely.
